Mike Dean spoke out on his current dynamic with Kanye West and hinted that their long-standing musical alliance might not be over just yet.

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, the veteran producer said he and Kanye West are on good terms despite not working together at the moment.

“We’re cool. We’re just not working,” Dean explained. “There’s no intense beef or anything. If we saw each other, we’d probably hug and say hello and then keep moving. Yeah, there’ll be a time when we probably get back together. Who knows when? That’s a heavy question.”

The duo, who’ve collaborated since 2002, share a deep creative history that spans nearly every major Kanye West album—from The College Dropout to Donda.

But their partnership reportedly hit a rough patch in 2022, following West’s widely criticized comments on InfoWars, where he praised Hitler and Nazis.

Shortly after those remarks, Dean reposted a message from Swedish House Mafia’s Steve Angello on Instagram.

The post, soundtracked by West’s 2010 hit “Power,” read: “When media attention becomes more important than life itself, you’re on a slippery slope. Saying provocative things to trigger social media for clicks and action is pathetic. Sitting there triggering the minds of less educated adults to spread your thoughts like a virus shows pure evil.

Dean later told AllHipHop, “I just shared Steve’s post because I thought it was amazing. We’re pushing positive s### out there.”

While they haven’t worked together recently, the door doesn’t appear to be closed. Both artists posted cryptic messages in October 2024, hinting at a possible reunion.

West even teased visuals from their Life of Pablo era while promoting his upcoming Bully album earlier this year, suggesting that something might be brewing behind the scenes.
