The rest of Hollywood may be on pause because of the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, but the Power universe lives on.
STARZ announced on Monday (Aug. 26) that Power Book III: Raising Kanan will return for season three on December 1 and here’s your official first look into the highly-anticipated new season.
New episodes will arrive following the conclusion of Power Book IV: Force, which returns for its second season on Friday, Sept. 1.
Season three of the acclaimed drama will pick up where the explosive finale left off, with Kanan (MeKai Curtis) and the rest of his family reeling after the Mob orchestrated a coordinated attack on Raquel (Patina Miller), Lou-Lou (Malcolm Mays), and Marvin (London Brown).
With emotions high and the stakes even higher, we’re introduced to new cast members, Wendell Pierce as Snaps Henry, Erika Woods as Pop Henry, and Grantham Coleman as Ronnie. Tony Danza will also reprise his role as Italian mobster, Stefano Marchetti.
After having dealt with the hard truth about himself and his mother, Kanan now finds himself grappling with the ideas of right vs. wrong, fidelity vs. disloyalty, and good vs. evil. Every member of his immediate family must also face these challenges within themselves, including his cousin, Jukebox (Hailey Kilgore).
STARZ teased, “They won’t all be able to complete this intensely personal quest, but for those who do, the destination may reveal the most terrifying secret of all. There is no right and wrong or good and evil. There are no absolutes. In the end, there’s just you.”
Omar Epps, Shanley Caswell, Joey Bada$$, and Antonio Ortiz will all reprise their roles as Det. Malcolm Howard, Det. Burke, Unique, and Famous, respectively.
New episodes of Power Book III: Raising Kanan will debut weekly on Fridays at 12 a.m. ET/PT via the STARZ app.
