Benny The Butcher shared a snippet of a new track with rapper-producer Hit Boy on Instagram, drawn from the duo’s much-anticipated album Everybody Can’t Go.
The Buffalo-based rapper — signed to Griselda Records since 2016 — recently announced a new album with Hit-Boy titled Everybody Can’t Go. Hit Boy vaguely announced their collaboration in February via a Twitter video, which showed Benny rapping over a beat in the studio.
The Instagram video — shared on March 3 — showed Hit Boy and Benny in the studio again, listening to the new, untitled track in the background.
The “Johnny P’s Caddy” rapper last released an album —
Tana Talk 4 — in March 2022, which was produced by The Alchemist, Daringer, and Beat Butcha. Benny and Hit-Boy previously collaborated on the former’s second studio album
Burden of Proof — released in October 2020.
Hit-Boy recently produced an album with California-based rapper Pacman da Gunman titled
Bulletproof Soul in 2022. The “Sicko Mode” producer also released his own single —
Tony Montana III — in 2022. Benny’s last single “Resonate”, which featured OneShotAce and Harry Fraud, came out in January 2023.
In other news, Hit-Boy recently collaborated with Musiq Soulchild on
the latter’s forthcoming collaborative album with this time reminiscing about a former lover on “I Remember You My Ex.”
Hit-Boy and Musiq Soulchild are no strangers to working together. Soulchild has appeared on two Hit-Boy-produced tracks in the past: Kanye West’s 2010 holiday jingle “Christmas in Harlem” and Audio Push’s “Praise You” in 2016.
Hit-Boy was named
HipHopDX‘s Producer of the Year for 2022 after 12 months of potent output – but his pick for his favorite work of the year might be surprising.
HipHopDX caught up with the talented producer in Jauarry to congratulate him on all of his recent successes and to ask what he feels was his favorite production of 2022.
“It would have to be between ‘
Corsa‘ by me and Dom Kennedy and obviously
King’s Disease III,” Hit-Boy said.
