BLEU Accuses Major Labels Of Trying To ‘Bury’ His ‘Genius’ Talent

BLEU appears to have a bone to pick with the major labels, after claiming that all of them are trying to blackball him in order to keep his “genius” talent at bay.

The Alabama native took to Twitter on Sunday (February 19) to call out the majors while also criticizing people who believe his music has sounded the same throughout his career.

According to the crooner, people who say that have only heard a handful of his songs. “People who say ‘all his music sound the same’ them be the main ones who’s only heard 2 songs out your 100 song catalog,” he tweeted. “Lol Y’all just say stuff for attention sometime.”

One fan claimed that one of BLEU’s most recent songs sounded like another record that was on his 2020 mixtape Love Scars: The 5 Stages of Emotions. The singer explained the new song is supposed to invoke that same feeling his tape did.

“It’s suppose to give u the same vibe as love scars 1 it’s nostalgic it suppose to creat the same feeling,” he said. “It’s the same brand ! same feeling different topic . If I made pop songs on a love scars 2 y’all gone say (he could kept that).”

He continued: “Fans have to understand! The music that introduced u to a artis holds a special place to u . So it’s always gonna go harder “to you” than the new shit. It’s not about the music . It’s the music , the memory’s, what it got u through etc. that’s understandable.”

BLEU then pointed the finger at the major labels, who he said are deliberately trying to stunt his growth because he refused to sign with them. According to BLEU, he should be bigger than where he is now, and major labels are preventing that, causing fans not to hear most of his records.

Despite the accusations, BLEU didn’t rule out ever signing with a major label, as he said he may do it so his fans can really see him elevate his career to where it should be.

“I’m probably never gonna be respected as a artist but whoever been around me in the studio know ima genius when it come to music , the real secret is these major labels and machines try to bury me cuz I never took they contracts,” he tweeted.

“So I never get looks , the opportunities to display my talent to the world . But I’m pushing out product for all they artist in private. Maybe I’ll sign to a major one day so my fans can finally see me blow up big as I should be . I’ll do it for y’all if I ever did it.”

When he’s not calling out the music industry and major labels, BLEU is hard at work readying the launch of his Moon Boy University. Earlier this month, the 28-year-old revealed the space had been completed with an Instagram post.

In addition to multiple recording studios, MBU includes a bowling alley, a basketball court, a pool, a sauna, a massage area, meeting rooms, bunk beds for visitors, a master suite, a gym, a theater, an area to cook in and a rooftop bar.

“It’s official! This what I been working on !” Bleu captioned his virtual tour. “My label @moonboyuniv Headquarters/Studio opens in April located the Atl area . and we looking for TALENT and Staff! TAG a artist, Producer , Writer, filmmaker I should sign to my company!”

He continued: “Watch how we take this Moon Boy Brand global I also wanna make this space available for artist creators to book and get a crazy vibe while y’all being creative ! Something I wish they had at most studios . STAY TUNED.”

He’s also staying busy with a new movie role. In November, the Alabama-bred artist announced that he had landed his first major acting gig.

In a since-deleted social media post, BLEU showed a part of his contract for the role stating he’ll receive a guaranteed $250,000 under a “flat” deal.
