Coi Leray Has Split Ways With Republic Records

Coi Leray's Blue Moon EP, which dropped in October, was her last project on Republic Records.

Coi Leray said she’s no longer signed to Republic Record and spoke about how they wanted her to create pop records like Taylor Swift & Ariana Grande.

"I'm not on Republic Records no more, I'm on Island," she explained.  "When I dropped Blue Moon, Republic they wanted pop sh*t.  They wanted some Taylor Swift/Ariana Grande sh*t.  Which I can do, but I still like to work at my own pace and my own time and I'm still developing and learning my own sound.  The Blue Moon sh*t they didn't like.  It was something they didn't want to put no money into it.  So when I gotta come out of my pocket and put my own money into my own music, you gotta make real life decisions."
