The 37-year-old rapper/singer uses a clip of Nick Saban to make his point.
Drake has been in the news a lot in recent days. The For All the Dogs album creator has now shared his thoughts about the people covering the news.
On Tuesday (January 16), Drake went on social media to address journalists. He posted an Instagram Story directly calling out the media.
“Journalistic world cashing out on negativity and discouraging the youth from finding their way now more than ever,” the 37-year-old Canadian superstar wrote.
Drake continued, “The noise is all calculated, keep pushing forward.” His Instagram Story included a 2014 video of then-University of Alabama football coach Nick Saban.
“When somebody does something wrong, everybody wants to know how you’re gonna punish the guy. But there’s not enough for 19 and 20-year-old kids, people saying, ‘Why don’t you give them another chance?” Saban says in the clip.
Nick Saban also stated, “I feel strong about this now, really strong about every criticism out there about every guy that’s 19 years old that makes a mistake and you all kill him.”
Drake has recently faced negative critiques from media figures such as Sowmya Krishnamurthy and Joe Budden. Additionally, the rapper/singer took issue with critics’ negative reviews of For All the Dogs.
Earlier this week, Drake became a trending topic after Hip-Hop veteran Mos Def (aka Yasiin Bey) claimed the OVO Sound frontman makes pop music. The 5-time Grammy award winner fired back at Mos Def on Instagram.
