E-40, Too $hort and Mistah F.A.B. were among the special guests invited to attend the White House with the Golden State Warriors in celebration of their 2022 NBA championship.
The Dubs, who took home their fourth title in eight years last season, brought along a few Bay Area rap legends with them for another trip to the White House on Tuesday (January 17), and the diehard fan trio didn’t take the rare opportunity for granted.
“From magazine street to executive suite, you can call me White House Water,” E-40 wrote on Instagram next to photos of him, $hort and F.A.B. posing next to Vice President Kamala Harris and recently-departed speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi.
40 Water also referred to himself as a “Ballatician” — a nod to his 2002 album Grit & Grind — in another post showing him stood in front of a portrait of former president Barack Obama.
Mistah F.A.B. called the experience a
“life changer,” while members of the Warriors squad were happy the Hip Hop dignitaries were present as 2015 NBA Finals MVP Andre Iguodala said it was the
“best part” of his fourth visit to the White House.
“Dope event today !!! Dub Nation all day Biiiiiiiitch,” Too $hort added in his own Instagram post, which gave fans a look at his presidential invite.
Radio royalty was also in the building as Oakland native
Sway Calloway recorded Tuesday’s episode of
Sway’s Universe live from the White House.
President Joe Biden went viral for all the wrong reasons during the visit when he forgot shooting guard Klay Thompson’s name while referencing the Warriors’ Big Three, which also includes Steph Curry and Draymond Green.
Although this season has gotten off to a rocky start with the Warriors sitting at .500 with a record of 22-22, Too $hort is still feeling confident in his hometown team. The Mount Westmore member recently sat down with
TMZ and predicted the Dubs to continue their dynasty and repeat as NBA champions.
“What happened last year pissed a lot of people off,” he said. “A season like right now, you only got a .500 record and you kinda sit there and feel good. You know my team ain’t bout to fall off and we got a chance.
“When people hate on the Warriors, us Warrior fans don’t care because we spent a lot of years at the bottom of the division. Now that we coming to yo town and your team plays their best game of the season against us, as a fan we like that’s how it’s supposed to be.”
