Fat Joe performed as part of the AFC Championship’s halftime show on Sunday evening (January 29) at Arrowhead Stadium where the Kansas City Chiefs and Cincinnati Bengals squared off.
Joey Crack braved the frigid conditions to perform his 2004 Scott Storch-produced anthem “Lean Back” for the crowd during halftime. Instead of being on the field, The Bronx native opted to rhyme from the upper deck with the Chiefs cheerleaders dancing behind him.
“Shit like 20 Below zero LETS GOOOOO CHIEFS,” Joe captioned his post.
Plenty of his celebrity friends showed love in the comment section including T.I., Busta Rhymes, Bun B, Jamie Foxx and more.
Behind a last-second field goal by Harrison Butker, the Chiefs took down the Bengals 23-20 to advance to their third Super Bowl in four years.
It remains to be seen if Fat Joe will continue to be a good luck charm for KC and make the trip to Glendale, Arizona for Super Bowl LVII where the Chiefs will face off with the Philadelphia Eagles on February 12. Rihanna is slated to return to the stage after a hiatus from music as the halftime performer as well.
The Terror Squad honcho had a busy week, as days prior he surprised the crowd as a
special guest at Lil Kim’s Apollo Theater show on January 26.
However, Fat Joe voiced that
doesn’t want to see fans have their phones out for his entire performances anymore going forward.
“If you go to a show, and you pull your camera out and you’re recording, you’re not really in the moment,” Joe said. “You’re recording what’s going on. You’re not enjoying it. If you know how to live in the moment.”
He added: “Put some fire signs if you understand what I’m saying. If you don’t then you lost, because this social media got n-ggas lost.”
