Jamie Foxx has turned the spotlight on his youngest daughter, showcasing the teen’s skill on the bass while also revealing a new talent of his own.

On Sunday (January 29), the actor and singer took to Instagram to share a video of his recent jam session with his 13-year-old, Annalise Bishop. The clip saw Foxx accompanying his daughter on the drums, while she played the familiar baseline to Chic’s classic 1979 disco soul song “Good Times,” which was famously sampled for the Sugar Hill Gang’s own classic, “Rapper’s Delight.”

After filming Bishop for a few moments, the unseen camera person turns back to Foxx, at which point he motions for them to put the attention back on his kid.

“#daddydaughtertime music vibes with my daughter in London Town!,” he captioned the post. “We bout to hit the road together!!! Daddy daughter tour!!! Ya Hurd!! #anelisefoxx”

Despite the fact that he made it a point to direct the attention towards his daughter, several fans and friends took note of Jamie Foxx’ newly revealed talent in the comments, as the piano is usually his instrument of choice.

While the Ray star’s eldest daughter Corrine Foxx has followed him into film and television, Foxx discovered just how deeply his youngest shared his love of music while quarantining with his entire family in 2020. Back then, she was the one talking up the idea of touring with her famous dad.

“My daughter [Annalise] played her piano at 4 o’ clock in the morning, 11 years old, and holding,” he told Entertainment Tonight at the time. “That’s what’s been good is we have been able to connect like that. My 11-year-old now knows how to play the piano so well, she actually plays my songs while I sing to them. She said, ‘I am going on tour with you.’ I am blessed, we are all blessed.”

Annalise Bishop may have to wait a while before that tour happens however, since her dad has been mostly focused on acting over the last few years.

Since the release of his last album Hollywood: A Story of a Dozen Roses in 2015, Jamie Foxx has not put out any music of his own and hadn’t even appeared on any music by other artists until he was featured on Pop Smoke’s 2020 single “She Feelin Nice.”

In 2021,  the same year in which he reprised his role as Max Dillon in Spider-Man: No Way Home, he lent his vocals to Wale and Roddy Rich for their respective singles, “Dearly Beloved” and “No Way.”

Jamie Foxx most recently starred alongside Snoop Dogg in Netflix’s supernatural action comedy Dayshift, in which he plays a blue collar family man who works hard as a pool cleaner in the San Fernando Valley. But really, the chlorine and cleaning supplies at the pool are all a front for Jablonski’s work as a teeth-pulling vampire hunter.

A little over a month after the movie’s August 2022 release, the streaming platform dropped the trailer for Foxx’s next project They Cloned Tyrone, a campy sci-fi mystery that finds him joining forces with John Boyega and Teyonah Parris as they try to unravel “a nefarious government conspiracy.”
