K Camp has taken some time to address anyone who thinks that he’s lost his touch as an artist.
On Thursday (January 5), K Camp made an appearance on the Mr. Jay Hil Show and he opened up about whether he feels he’s “fallen off” as a rapper.
“I heard all that shit,” K Camp said when asked if he had heard the chatter about his skills being diminished. “Don’t no artist wanna hear that they fell off. But you got to understand, what’s the definition of falling off. N-ggas use that term so loosely. What is falling off? Falling off to me is fucked up somewhere under a bridge with no paper, with a box saying: ‘Can I get some food?’ That’s falling off.”
He continued: “When n-ggas speak in the aspect of falling off in music, like they don’t hear you on the radio, they don’t see you visually, it’s not falling off. Every player got an off-season … You got to go back to practice, you got to go out and get back in the gym and get your skill set up and come back out.”

While K Camp believes he still has what it takes to craft hits, he hasn’t been shy about voicing his opinion when it comes to the politics of the music business. In January 2020, he aired out his grievances with Interscope Records for not pushing his music in a series of now-deleted tweets.
“I’m tired of the bullshit,” he wrote at the time. “I got over 100 Million streams on lottery 15+ million tik tok videos with no major Label support! just me and my team! @Interscope if ur not gonna support my shit let me go! Been putting my own money up for years. At this point y’all playing w me mine.”
