Lil Durk Believes Young Thug Is Being ‘Left To The Wolves’ In RICO Case
December 05, 2000
Lil Durk has shared his thought’s on Young Thug‘s current incarceration, explaining that he thinks the rapper is being targeted in the YSL RICO case.
Durkio used his Instagram platform on Thursday (December 22) to call for Thugger’s freedom and asked that his followers drop a green heart emoji into the comments to show their support.
“Drop a [heart] if y’all want thugg home and not being blamed or left to the wolves #FREEJEFF,” he wrote before adding he was working on his next LP. “ALBUM MODE.”
Fabolous, Jadakiss, Gillie Da Kid, Waka Flocka Flame, London On Da Track and more flooded Durk’s comment section with green hearts lending their approval.
Earlier this month, Lil Durk taunted the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office in bizarre fashion when he seemingly nearly implicated himself in Young Thug’s YSL RICO case.
The Chicago native admitted on the Future-Assisted “Mad Max” that he told Thug about every person he shot.
“I could have been part of the RICO, I called Thug and told him every n-gga I shot,” Durk raps on the track.
The Chicago rapper and fellow OTF member King Von (who was killed in November 2020) were charged with criminal attempt to commit murder, as well as aggravated assault, participation in illegal street gang activity, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
However, the charges against Durk and the late Von were dropped due to “prosecutorial discretion” on October 22, according to WSB-TV.
In a Dismissal of Charges Motion issued by Georgia’s Superior Court of Fulton County, District Attorney Fani T. Willis said: “The facts of this case have been reviewed and, although it appears that probable cause existed for the defendant’s arrest, the decision of the District Attorney at this time is not to prosecute.”
As for Thug, he’s expected to remain behind bars until his trial begins next month with no plea deals expected to come his way, according to Atlanta-based reporter George Chidi.
Thug’s brother, Unfoonk, as well as Gunna are among at least five co-conspirators who have agreed to plea deals in recent weeks.
Gunna pleaded guilty to a racketeering conspiracy charge last week and was subsequently released from jail after being given a four-year sentence with one already served in prison. The rest of his sentence will be served in the form of 500 hours of community service.
