Lil Wayne's 'A Milli' Used By Florida Police To Soundtrack $1.1M Drug Bust On TikTok

Lil Wayne’s 2008 smash hit “A Milli” has been used to soundtrack a Florida police department’s latest drug bust.

In a video shared to TikTok, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office announced that latest seizure allowed narcotics detectives to get $1.1 million dollars in illegal drug money off the street.

“Christmas is canceled for these two drug dealers and the streets are cleared of drugs, guns and a milli,” Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno said in a video before Tha Carter III track begins to play.

The video then jumps into a montage of the authorities counting all the dirty money collected from their raid before the video ends.

Lil Wayne’s “A Milli,” which has often been celebrated by critics, won the 2009 Grammy Award for Best Rap Solo Performance. The track peaked at No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100, making it Weezy’s second top ten and his second-highest peaking song on the chart as a lead artist at the time.

In September, Lil Wayne rang in his 40th birthday with 22 new RIAA certifications, including one for “A Milli,” as the song achieved 6x platinum status. Other songs included “6 Foot 7 Foot,” and “Love Me” featuring Drake and Future, which are now both 7x platinum; and “Right Above It” featuring Drake and Eminem-assisted “Drop The World,” which have been certified 5x platinum.

Three of Weezy’s albums also earned new certifications, with I Am Not a Human Being and Tha Carter V achieving double platinum status; and Tha Carter III being certified 8x platinum.

While he hasn’t hinted at any forthcoming solo releases, Lil Wayne was recently spotted in the studio with Wyclef Jean and Juelz Santana. He also recently linked up with YG to pay homage to fallen 4Hunnid artist Slim 400 on the new song  “Miss My Dawgs.”

This wasn’t unfamiliar territory for Weezy though, as his 2004 album Tha Carter featured a song called “I Miss My Dawgs.” Unlike YG, however, Lil Wayne’s song was about the demise of his relationship with fellow Hot Boys JuvenileB.G. and Turk, rather than a dedication to a slain friend.

While filming a video for the new single, YG showed Wayne his appreciation by gifting him a brand new 4Hunnid chain. In footage shared on the Compton rapper’s Instagram page on Wednesday (December 7), fans can see him him approach Wayne with a black box in hand, saying: “I got something for you.”

Lil Wayne was eager to receive the gift to see what was inside, and once he opened it, he found a gold and red 4Hunnid chain waiting.
