Nas headlines the World Cup 26 Queens Group Stage HQ on June 12 while becoming the voice of the 2026 NBA Finals.
Nas is taking over the World Cup stage in Queens this summer, and his dominance in sports continues to expand beyond the music world.
The Queens icon will headline the opening night concert at the NYNJ World Cup 26 Queens Group Stage HQ on Friday, June 12.
The event takes place at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, transforming the iconic venue into a global celebration of soccer, music, and culture from June 11 through June 27.
Nas’ performance requires a separate ticketed admission at special-event pricing, co-sponsored by Resorts World Casino, marking his first major World Cup appearance as a performer.
The Queens Group Stage HQ will host over 40 performances and appearances across 17 dates, featuring globally recognized artists including Ella Mai, Wyclef Jean, Busta Rhymes, Blessd, and more.
The venue represents one of the region’s premier fan destinations during the tournament’s group stage, bringing together supporters from around the globe to experience the game alongside local residents.
But Nas’ sports takeover extends far beyond the soccer pitch. The legendary rapper recently became the voice of the 2026 NBA Finals, delivering powerful narration for composer Nicholas Britell’s groundbreaking league-wide sonic identity called “History Is Calling.”
Per the NBA’s announcement, Nas’ narrative voice captures the emotion and intensity of the Finals, with his opening line setting the tone: “Thirty teams start this journey, but only two are left standing.”
The partnership will continue beyond the Finals, with both collaborators working on additional projects that blend music and sports entertainment.
His World Cup performance in Queens represents the next chapter in this expanding role, positioning him as a central figure in the intersection of Hip-Hop culture and global sporting moments.
