Company: Ice Point Jewelry

What: A jewelry company that consists of two African American males. After analyzing the jewelry industry, they both realized that the industry wasn’t providing their customers with the best possible products and prices. As a result of this, they decided to convert themselves from consumers to retailers in two years.

Where: The two males reside in Toronto and seem to have a global reach. With their hands reaching as far as Nigeria, South Africa, and Dubai.

Why: After studying the jewelry business for some time, I noticed a lot of my colleagues and friends spent a lot of their money on jewelry. However, they were constantly being ripped off. They were spending top dollars on jewelry that was not quality work as a result of lacking the proper knowledge when it came to buying jewelry. One day the idea came to my head that instead of allowing people to be misled I would learn how to do jewelry, teach people the process, and allow them to know what their right is when selling and buying.

How: By opening my own jewelry business to show and teach people different ways of obtaining the same look, and how jewelers cut corners to profit or leave out information to confuse and mislead us.
