Peter Rosenberg Channels His Inner Meek Mill On ‘Dreams & Turkey Wings’ Freestyle

Hot 97’s Peter Rosenberg has dropped off the latest entry in his Thanksgiving Bars series, this time rhyming over the instrumental to Meek Mill‘s “Dreams and Nightmares.”

The radio personality unleashed the new Thanksgiving-themed song on Wednesday (November 23) with an accompanying music video that finds Rosenberg getting his bars off in various locations such as the studio and in his home.

I used to pray for times like this to dine like this/ So I had to cook like that serve wine like this/ And I had to work hard on Mom’s apple crisp,” Rosenberg raps in the same cadence as Meek does on his classic record. “And I went to the store to buy cheese puffs and grits/ See my mom comes up and my dad does too/ Ask my girl to marry me and she said, yeah I do.”

He continued: “Hold up wait a minute/ Y’all thought I was finished?/ ‘Bout to serve desserts so sweet you’re gonna need a dentist/ Got a salad with some pecans and some vinaigrette and spinach/ Seconds for the fam I’m the Captain Bear’s lieutenant/ ‘Bout to eat up all the pie until my belt is broke.”

The song — which you can listen to below — comes a day before millions of people across the nation will sit down with their family and friends stuffing their faces with all kinds of food to celebrate the day of thanks.

Peter Rosenberg’s 2022 Thanksgiving Bars is the latest addition to a series of hilarious songs celebrating the holiday. Over the years, Rosenberg has rapped over several instrumentals such as BIA’s “Whole Lotta Money,” Drake’s “Money in the Grave,” Kendrick Lamar’s “DNA,” Megan Thee Stallion’s “Savage” and more that can all be found on Soundcloud.

While Rosenberg continues to bust out rhymes for the holiday season, others are finding ways to celebrate by giving back to their communities, such as 50 Cent. The G-Unit mogul held a Thanksgiving Turkey giveaway earlier this week in Houston, Texas.

The giveaway was in partnership with the rapper’s G-Unity foundation as well as Kroger and Spec’s. As part of the giveaway, 1,000 families were treated to a turkey, a plate of food and a ticket voucher to an upcoming Rockets home game.

“I just want them to have a great Thanksgiving and enjoy themselves, you know what I’m saying?” 50 told KPRC at the event. “I’m actually coming in here fashionably. My kids been here working and putting it together, so I gotta catch up and put in more work so they don’t gotta look at me like I got them out here first.”

Elsewhere, Quality Control has taken care of the Atlanta community this holiday season with its annual Thanksgiving senior luncheon and Thanksgiving-themed Pop-Up Grocery Market.

In collaboration with Goodr, the luncheon went down on Monday (November 21) and served a total of 300 local senior citizens at Baptist Towers Senior Home.

The following day, the label (home to Lil Baby, Lil Yachty and more) held its pop-up market for an additional 300 pre-registered families, with each group being provided with Thanksgiving turkeys and all the trimmings for a complete holiday meal.
