Reese LaFlare Calls Out Fox Houston When They Mistake Him For Young Thug

Reese LaFlare has been mistaken as Young Thug by a local news outlet in Texas.

On Saturday (January 7), the Atlanta native took to Twitter to clear up an error Fox Houston made after the news station used a photo of Reese LaFlare for the featured image of a report about Young Thug’s upcoming RICO trial. Along with firmly requesting that his likeness no longer be used in connection with news about the YSL RICO case, Reese LaFlare also appeared to make light of the situation by trolling the tweet Fox Houston shared — which has since been deleted.

“Stop using my picture,” Reese LaFlare wrote in his initial reply to the tweet before doubling down and writing in a separate quote tweet, “Y’all gotta stop using my picture.” He then started engaging with other users and replying to the reactions in their tweets, which ranged from sheer confusion to disbelief. “That Nigga is HIM!!… free my brother Jeffery!!,” Reese LaFlare wrote in a reply to a user who questioned who he was after seeing Fox Houston’s tweet.

In addition to simply tweeting “Free Jeffrey Williams,” he also shared another pair of follow-up tweets, which included a photo of himself, Young Thug and Childish Gambino, further rallying a call for the freedom of the So Much Fun lyricist along with yet another snappy retort trolling the entire saga.

Even though Fox Houston clearly mixed up the two rappers, it isn’t like the pair of Atlanta natives aren’t at all connected, considering they have been linked together as collaborators for several years. In 2018, Young Thug appeared on Reese LaFlare’s self-titled album track “Nosebleeds,” and also collaborated with him and Trippie Redd on the Ohio-bred rapper’s LIFE’S A TRIP album cut “For Ever.”

Additionally, in May of that same year, Young Thug appeared to confirm that Reese LaFlare was involved with the studio session that resulted in his ad-libs ending up on Childish Gambino’s explosive track “This Is America,” during an interview with Spotify for their “Scrolling In The Deep,” content series.

“[Childish Gambino] got in touch with Reese LaFlare. I think they cool, friends or whatever. He told him to come to the [studio]. He said he has a song for me for his last album.” Thug said. “I tweeted one time, I was like, ‘I bet I be on Gambino’s last album.’ I’m on his last album, it’s crazy. He’s really not making music after this.”

Whenever Reese LaFlare is not fighting claims that he and Young Thug are the same person, he is working on releasing new music. Following the release of his recent “Flu Game,” visual single he joined forces with Seddy Hendrix last month for their “Ladies And Gentleman,” collaboration ahead of his upcoming DJ Drama-helmed Gangsta Grillz mixtape.
