ScHoolboy Q confirmed his next album, Thank Que, revealing the 12 track project is nearly finished as he prepares to launch a new era.
ScHoolboy Q is officially turning the page with Thank Que, a new 12-track album that the Top Dawg Entertainment veteran says is nearly complete.
The Los Angeles rapper surprised supporters Wednesday (July 9) by posting a studio photo to his Instagram Story alongside a brief but direct update on his next release.
“New chapter. Wrapping up this 12-song album called Thank Que. Been working on this for a minute. Yes I’m coming back.”

The announcement marks the first official confirmation of a new ScHoolboy Q project since the release of Blue Lips in 2024. That album was heralded as a classic by critics and fans alike. The opus offered a creative approach to production, creative songwriting and more.
Q did not reveal a release date or any of the other particulars, but it seems like the project is in its final stages. He called it a “new chapter” so it is unlikely he’s following the Blue Lips formula.
Since the release of Blue Lips, ScHoolboy Q has embraced a lower-profile lifestyle centered on health, fitness and one of his biggest passions: golf. The rapper has become increasingly active in the golf world, frequently sharing rounds from courses across the country while documenting his steady improvement in the sport.
He’s also spoken openly about prioritizing his physical well-being, trading the relentless pace of touring and recording for a more balanced routine without stepping away from music entirely.
Q, Kendrick Lamar, Jay Rock, Ab-Soul and SZA have made TDE into a has built a reputation for taking his time between releases rather than rushing projects to market.
If his latest update is any indication, that patience may soon pay off. With Thank Que now entering its final stretch, ScHoolboy Q appears ready to begin another chapter in a career that has consistently balanced commercial success with artistic evolution.
