Snoop Dogg, D-Nice & Questlove Mourn Death Of ‘Ellen’ DJ Stephen ‘Twitch’ Boss

Snoop Dogg, Questlove, and D-Nice are some of the artists who are mourning the death of DJ Stephen “tWitch” Boss.

Known as the popular dancing DJ on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, tWitch passed away on Wednesday (December 14). His wife Allison Holker Boss confirmed his passing in a statement shared to People. TMZ later revealed the DJ died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

“It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to share my husband Stephen has left us,” Allison wrote. “Stephen lit up every room he stepped into. He valued family, friends and community above all else and leading with love and light was everything to him. He was the backbone of our family, the best husband and father, and an inspiration to his fans.”

Snoop Dogg shouted out the late DJ by re-sharing a clip of him doing the crip walk alongside him on DeGeneres’ show. “R.I.P. Twitch. Save a dance for me,” he wrote.

D-Nice also chimed in and praised the DJ’s charm and smile. “A person can have the biggest smile in the world and quietly fighting through the darkest time of their life,” D-Nice wrote. “I am shocked and deeply saddened by Twitch’s death.”

He continued: “I try to always lead with love and kindness whenever I see someone. You never know what that person is going through. My sincere condolences to all of his loved ones. Rest peacefully to my brother in rhythm.

“If you or anyone you know is in need of help, send a text to the National Suicide & Crisis Lifeline at 988 or call 1-800-273-8255.”

Questlove added that he had “no words,” and pleaded with those reading to take care of themselves.

“May we all find peace of mind in our everyday lives,” he wrote. “Everyday is a winding road & you just may never know who is on the edge. A lot of us can’t process emotions & how to deal with it. I’ll admit yesterday was rotten & every minuscule occurrence of a Murphy’s Law nature sent me spiraling.

Questlove continued: “Take time out for yourselves if you feel like you’re on the edge (I know most of us are confused when it comes to darker emotions like sadness and anger — both healthy to express but becomes problematic when your solution is to figure out how to get rid of the feelings that don’t feel good to you.”

Alicia Keys echoed the sentiments shared by D-Nice, saying “you just never know” what someone might be going through.

“This is SO sad. Saw this shared on @sir_twitch_alot’s page earlier this week. What a bright soul,” she wrote. “What a beautiful connection we had through music. I pray these songs brought him and his family joy! Praying for solace for Allison, children, and loved ones. We have to walk with kindness and love with everyone we cross paths with everyday. You just never know…”

Ellen DeGeneres wrote on Wednesday (December 14) morning that she is “heartbroken” by her colleague’s passing.

“tWitch was pure love and light. He was my family, and I loved him with all my heart. I will miss him,” she wrote on social media. “Please send your love and support to Allison and his beautiful children – Weslie, Maddox, and Zaia.”

Law enforcement sources informed TMZ that Allison Holker Boss frantically ran into her local Los Angeles Police Department station on Tuesday (December 13), scared because Stephen had left home without his car, which was unlike him.

Paramedics received a call around 11:15 am for a medical emergency at a local motel, where they pronounced Stephen “tWitch” Boss dead at the scene.
